Press Room January 16, 2007 The heart of a home is usually the kitchen, and the kitchen is where a healthy heart lifestyle begins. With this in mind, Medical City Heart and Central Market are hosting a heart-healthy cooking class for mothers and daughters on Tuesday, February 6, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the grocers 5750 E. Lovers Lane location. This will be the first in a series of cooking classes offered by Medical City Heart in conjunction with Central Market. The cooking class is also part of a month of activities Medical City is conducting to commemorate American Heart Month, Womens Heart Health Day (Feb.1), Have-Heart Day (Feb. 14), Cardiac Rehabilitation Week and Cardiovascular Professionals Week (Feb.12-18) Diet and nutrition experts from Medical City and Central Market will lead the heart-healthy cooking classes at the Central Market Cooking School, which will also feature culinary lessons by instructors of the school. The classes, which cost $80 per mother-daughter team, will explore flavorful and easy-to-prepare heart-healthy recipes developed by Robert Gillentine, Medical Citys executive chef. The cooking lesson includes recipes using seasonal ingredients available at Central Market. Classes are for ages 14 and up. To participate, call 214-361-5754. |
